The University of Queensland, in partnership with Ministry of Sport, would like to invite you to the premier Tech in Sport event in Queensland to be held at Victoria Park Brisbane, on Wednesday 10th of July.

Demonstrating the latest trends, hardware and tools from across the region and globe, the 2019 Tech in Sport event will also celebrate the HYPE UQ SPIN Accelerator program startups.

Proudly supported by Advance Queensland, the HYPE UQ SPIN Accelerator is a global program developed by HYPE Sports Innovation and UQ to champion entrepreneurship and sports tech innovation, while providing access to mentors and investors from around the world to fast-track promising local startups onto the world stage.

The 10 graduating HYPE UQ SPIN Accelerator startup teams will be pitching their products in front of a jury that will include high-level representatives and influencers and investors from the sports and tech worlds including HYPE Sports Innovation mentor and Head of Business Development and Strategy for La Liga, Daniel Cerejido for a chance to win $25,000 provided by The University of Queensland and entry to one of AusTrade's Landing Pad programs.

The audience will include leading sports and tech figures, mentors, investors, innovators and media outlet representatives.

To round off the afternoon, we will have a panel chaired by Sarah Kelly (Director Brisbane Lions, and Assoc Professor, UQ Business School) exploring in more detail the impacts and responsibilities of technology in sport.

The 2019 HYPE UQ SPIN Accelerator Cohort includes:

  • BiiB - Community-based run motivator platform (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)

  • Moovosity - Inspiring children to enjoy a life of physical activity by empowering educators with the tools and resources to teach the fundamentals of movement. (QLD, Australia)

  • PUML- Incentivising active movement and securing digital health data on the blockchain. (QLD, Australia)

  • Quipmo - The surf, bike and snow peer-to-peer gear rental marketplace for locals and adventurers alike! (WA, Australia)

  • SG Esports - An esports media business built on the pillars of sponsorship, membership and grassroots. (VIC, Australia)

  • Siren Media - Helping teams engage fans and monetise game day with content. (QLD, Australia)

  • SportsCube - A SaaS based marketplace built for community sport. (QLD, Australia)

  • Stattr - Data, video and social platform for grass roots sport. (VIC, Australia)

  • Status Sport - Paperless community sport. (QLD, Australia)
