Overview

Who the course is for?

Startup founders and small business owners who are either facing challenges with cash flow, wanting to solidify their business to get set to scale, or are generating $100,000 to $2M per year in revenue and are looking to grow.

Objective of course

Participants will learn how to:

  • develop a foundational understanding of financial concepts and statements
  • create cash flow projections and understand the importance of maintaining positive cash flow
  • formulate effective and sustainable pricing strategies for products/services
  • explore various business models and choose the most suitable one for their venture
  • construct an actionable and realistic 90-day business plan with financial goals
  • understand the importance of scaling metrics and investment readiness
  • build a network with fellow founders and potential business owners

Outcomes of course

Participants will leave the promgramme with:

  • a foundational understanding of financial literacy and paractical tools and templates
  • a supportive network of fellow entrepreneurs
  • empowerment to accelerate their business growth and maintain health cash flow

Schedule

Workshop requirements:

This workshop will run from 9:30am-1:30pm with lunch included. Workshop requirements include actively participating in discussions and workshops, completing assigned activities, and to have an openess to sharing experiences and learning from fellow peers. 

  • Opening session. Welcoming and introduction. 9:30-10am
    Welcoming remarks, introduction and overview of the workshop's objectives and schedule.
  • Session 1. Deciphering Financial Statement. 10-10:30am.
    An introduction to profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. 
  • Session 2. Mastering Cash Flow Management. 10:45-11:15am.
    The importance of positive cash flow and creating cash flow projections.

    Session 3. Strategic Pricing and Business Models. 11:15-11:45am.
    The fundamentals of pricing strategy and an overview of various business models.
  • Lunch and networking. 11:45am-12:30pm.
  • Session 4. Planning and Scaling your Business. 12:30-1pm.
    Contruct a 90-day action plan and learn about scaling metrics and investment readiness.
  • Closing session. Reflect, Connect and Celebrate. 1-1:30pm.
    Reflect on workshop learnings and action steps, and provide your feedback.

Deborah Harris

Deborah Harris is CEO of Grow Group Global, parent company to brands Grow CFO Co., Direct Management, and My Plan Plus. Deborah is also an awesome strategist, passionate philanthropist, speaker/educator and entrepreneur. She has been an angel investor for more than a dozen years and is an active member of Brisbane Angels.
