Prizes

Participants in the hackathon will be in the running for a share of $10,000 in prize money. 

First place: $4000 cash
Second place: $3000 cash
Third place: $2000 cash
Hustle of the Weekend: $1000 cash

How it works

With support from mentors and experts, you will be challenged to identify ways to innovate the healthcare sector. 

You have the opportunity to identify innovations within your area of expertise, allowing participants from all faculties and industries to get involved.

The hackathon will be delivered in-person on UQ St Lucia campus.

Eligibility

The hackathon is open to students across all disciplines and study levels at The University of Queensland.

You don't need to have a team to join this challenge, we will help you to meet friends along the way. But, if you have teammates in mind, invite them along to join you.

Judging criteria

  • Level of innovation (30%) – is the proposed solution a new or significantly different approach taken to solve the challenge that will provide value?
  • Viable (30%) – is the proposed solution feasible in terms of resources required for successful implementation?
  • Customer value (30%) – how well does the proposed solution meet the customer need and deliver benefits?
  • Presentation (10%) – does the pitch tell a succinct yet detailed, compelling proposal to take action and support the proposed solution?
