Design a sustainable solution aiding resource recovery for your chance to win $100,000.
The Global Business Challenge is the first and largest competition of its type in the world. During the challenge postgraduate students and PhD candidates to come up with real implementable solutions to a specific topic.
The challenge for 2020 is to ‘develop novel and sustainable solutions to aid in resource recovery and promote the circular economy’.
Solutions can comprise any combination of new technology (which may also include existing technologies implemented in new ways) as well as novel business models to deliver achievable, practical and high-impact outcomes.
The finals will be held in Brisbane between 17-30 October 2020.

Eligibility
Teams of up to four postgraduate students from any combination of business and/or technical disciplines are eligible to apply.
An eligible program is any business or technical discipline-based postgraduate program of study (such as MBA, Masters Degrees or other relevant postgraduate degree programs in business or technical disciplines). A multidisciplinary approach is encouraged.

Prizes
Finalists have the opportunity to pitch to industry for their group's chance to win prizes up to $100,000.
Industry prizes are specifically targeted to support finalist teams, or their collaborators, in their commercialisation effort. As collaboration is a key pillar of the competition, teams are encouraged to partner with technology providers, from research and industry and government organisations.

About GBC
The competition is designed to challenge students to formulate business solutions for globally relevant and contemporary ‘wicked’ problems. Importantly, the Challenge is designed to foster cross-border and cross-discipline collaborations to create solutions that capture emerging transformative business opportunities for industries, regions and countries.
The 2020 Global Business Challenge is hosted by UQ and managed by QUT Graduate School of Business. It is being conducted as a partnership between UQ, QUT and Griffith University, with the support of government and industry.
The UQ team will receive support and mentorship from Ventures staff and academics across the University.
