Gain the knowledge and skills to validate, build and pitch your startup idea in just two days!

Ventures Fast Lane is an intensive two-day version of the Idea Hub Unlimited program, designed to help you turn ideas into real businesses.

The program supports you to gain the motivation, inspiration and confidence needed to test and explore ideas in a safe space. You will have the opportunity to build networks with other students, idea makers and seasoned entrepreneurs for a strong, well-connected start to your entrepreneurial journey.

Over two days, you will have the opportunity to form and test your early-stage ideas for potential commercial opportunity.

Day one

Workshop 1. Ideation
Learn how to manage expectations, value ideas and know what to do after that revelation in the shower.
Workshop 2. Design-thinking
Go through a framework to improve ideas and create successful prototypes.
Workshop 3. Business model canvas
Translate a problem solution into a feasible business model.

Day two

Workshop 4. Market validation and MVP
You'll be shown the hackiest tools of the trade to create a minimum viable product (MVP).
Workshop 5. Pitching theory
Our Entrepreneur in Residence will break down the art of pitching.
Workshop 6. Practice makes...
Put your knowledge into practice. Like all skills, it requires hours of practice to get the hang of pitching.
Pitch Perfect!
Put your best foot forward and pitch your idea. The winner will receive some great prizes.

To be eligible to apply, you must be:

a current UQ student, staff member or young alumni (graduated in the last 10 years)
be interested in entrepreneurship and innovation
be ready to build your knowledge and skills
commit to attending the full two days
