Pop-up workshops

We work with UQ course coordinators to deliver tailored two-hour entrepreneurial workshops across all disciplines.

In 2022, Ventures delivered 76 Pop-up workshops across campus to over 3,500 participants including students, staff, alumni, and industry partners.

Our workshops are structured around five key concepts and focus on practical problem-solving, using industry-relevant challenges. Ventures Pop-ups will help develop students’ entrepreneurial mindset, empowering them to be creative, adaptable, tolerant of ambiguity and risk, and able to learn from failure. The skills your students develop can help them be successful in whatever they choose to do.

Our workshops:

  • are delivered by the UQ Ventures team during lectures, tutorials or as an additional event
  • cover five different topics developed in partnership with the Business School
  • are co-designed in consultation with course coordinators
  • use industry-relevant challenges

5. Agile project management workshop

Plan, execute and deliver projects in a lean way. Lean methodologies create greater value while using fewer resources.

Managing complex projects simultaneously is a must-have skill for all UQ students. Whether managing university assessments, different jobs and deadlines, need agile tools to work efficiently and strategically, as individuals and in teams.

In this workshop your students will:

  • apply agile iterative methodologies to deliver goals
  • learn how to organise their workload and lead a team
  • understand how to effectively collaborate

We adopt frameworks from SCRUM, Kanban and Lean Startup to guide them through this agile management process and deliver quality outputs in a timely and professional manner. This workshop is open to all students across UQ and is especially relevant for postgraduates and PhD students.
