The University of Queensland (UQ) is proud to announce the 2025 UQ Venture Scholarships—our continued commitment to backing the bold, the innovative, and the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders.
These scholarships offer financial support, mentorship, and access to an incredible network of founders and builders through UQ Ventures.
Whether you're an engineer with a prototype, a creative with a plan, or a changemaker with a vision—you don’t have to walk the path alone.
Why We Back Entrepreneurs
Entrepreneurship isn’t just about starting companies. It’s about solving problems, creating value, and leading with purpose. At UQ, we believe students shouldn’t have to choose between study and startup life. These scholarships ensure that those brave enough to build something new get the backing they deserve.
The UQ Venture Scholarships are more than financial aid—they’re a launchpad. Scholarship recipients gain access to the full UQ Ventures ecosystem, including mentorship, industry networks, and our flagship programs like Curiosity, Validate, Hustle, ilab, and Startup AdVentures.
“These scholarships represent more than financial support—they are an investment in the bold ideas and extraordinary potential of our students. At UQ, we are committed to equipping the next generation of entrepreneurs with the tools, networks, and confidence to take their ideas further. I am excited to see this Scholarship program grow in the years ahead and to watch our students shape industries, solve real-world problems, and change the world”.
- Rongyu Li, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Global Engagement)
