The Falling Walls Science Breakthroughs of the Year will highlight breakthrough thinking from around the world. There has been over 900 nominations from 111 countries.
UQ alumni's startup Augmented Bionics is one of the 20 finalists! Augmented Bionics is developing a first of its kind non-surgical bionic ear that will enable hearing for people suffering from severe hearing loss.
The winners will be announced 9 November 2020 at the Falling Walls Grand Finale.
Since its first annual meeting on 9 November 2009 – the 20th anniversary of the peaceful fall of the Berlin Wall – the Falling Walls Conference and Berlin Science Week have grown into a World Science Summit – with one question at its core: Which are the next walls to fall in science and society?
